At one point, if I recall correctly, you had to chuck him over a swollen stream followed by Bargee nearly losing one of his dogs. Being a cat person I've never wanted to own a dog but it would be a dog like Farley if I did. I always looked forward to seeing Farls (along with you and the family too) when our paths crossed so it's so sad to read your story.
You'll get a hug when I see you next, Steve (Carlos)
Carlos McTavishnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-26519927.post-57601694418934113492012-12-17T20:32:23.216+00:002012-12-17T20:32:23.216+00:00Your blog has made me cry. Such a shame for you all, but in the weeks and months to come you will realise you took the only option left. He will not suffer anymore, only those who are left behind are now in pain. Be strong, and know that sometimes however hard you try, some battles cannot be won. My name is Bob Furnell and I'm the Range Editor for the Canadian Doctor Who fiction project called "The Doctor Who Project" (TDWP). We are in the midst of putting together a collection of stories celebrating 50 years of Doctor Who to be published in 2013. As a writer of Doctor Who fiction, I've taken the liberty of contacting you in the hopes that I might interest you in writing for us.

TDWP centers on the continuing adventures of an alternate Doctor and his companions. Stories are published as part of an overall season that concentrates on delivering a collection of short stories that sees the Doctor facing new and original situations in time and space.

TDWP has always been about originality and remaining true to the spirit of the original television series. We have always strived to be innovative and original. TDWP has been publishing original fiction since 1999. While we may be a fan run project, we treat the series seriously and in a professional manner. Writers are asked to submit story proposals to the editorial team to judge. Editorial comments are made on each story asking for selected changes, and together the editor and writer draft the best story possible. Every one of our writers is committed to their craft and everyone involved works together as team to encourage a lively and encouraging environment and to ensure the success of the author and author's work. Each of our stories is published in book format featuring original art covers. We have been the recipients of no less than 6 MediaWest FANQ awards including: "Best Doctor Who Story (General)" three times, "Best Doctor Who Fanzine (General)"; twice" and "Best Doctor Who Artist". Our writers have included some of Doctor Who fandom's best: Arnold T. Blumberg (Howe's Transcendental Toybox), Will Hadcroft (Anne Droyd and Century Lodge, The Feeling's Mutual), Kyle Bastian (DRE Audios), Jodie van de Wetering (ABC Television), John Gordon Swogger (The Goddess & The Bull), Tim Jones, Duncan Johnson, and numerous others...

For 2013, TDWP is planning to release seven new adventures that delve deep into the history of the television series recognizing what elements made the successful stories of the past, and then coming up with new and exciting ways to tell that story. We are currently accepting story proposals from writers who would like to celebrate the anniversary with us. The stories will be published on a bi-monthly schedule. Each story will be a separate adventure that celebrates the best of Doctor Who - quirky stories, scary stories, adventure stories or straight up weird tales that engage and excite the reader. The seven new adventures are to feature the TDWP Tenth Doctor and his current companions Val Rossi and Tom Brooker.

I'm hoping this brief introduction to TDWP has interested you and perhaps encouraged you to consider writing for us. If you would like further information on what we have planned for 2013, please check out our blog at www.thedoctorwhoproject.wordpress.com, or visit our website at www.thedoctorwhoproject.com. If you would like further information, or have questions regarding TDWP, please feel free to contact me at bobf60@shaw.ca.

I look forward to hearing from you.

Bob Furnell
TDWP Range EditorBob Furnellhttp://www.thedoctorwhoproject.comnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-26519927.post-69029789790863401682009-07-09T18:33:03.865+00:002009-07-09T18:33:03.865+00:00P.S.
